43 Active Chaplains

The Adult Jail Chaplaincies Ministry is comprised of 45 people, lay and clergy, who minister to the incarcerated. Chaplains spend 13 weeks in training classes followed by on-going training, supervision and support. Chaplains enter the Hamilton County Justice System facilities on a daily basis to visit and pray with inmates. Hamilton County Sheriff Simon Leis remarked, "I am convinced the chaplaincy program is a very vital component of our correction division."

Application Process:

  1. Must submit a note requesting an application.

  2. Must attend 11 of the 13 training sessions to certify.

  3. Completion of training does not guarantee admission.
